Resolute Women’s Support Services is pleased to announce the election of Carly Jones as the new Chair of the Board and Manveet Chhina as a new Trustee. These appointments come at a pivotal moment for the charity as it continues its vital work to eradicate domestic abuse.
Carly Jones brings extensive experience in neurodivergency, advocacy, and strategic development to her new role as Chair. Carly has been instrumental in working to ensure that neurodivergent individuals are treated with the understanding and respect they deserve in the legal system. Her work focuses on helping neurodivergent individuals overcome the unique challenges they face, particularly in the areas of domestic abuse, coercive control, and marginalisation. She is an advocate for criminal justice and family law reforms to ensure better support for neurodivergent survivors of abuse. She will succeed Lucy Powell who has stepped down after over 2 years of dedicated service.
“I am deeply honoured to take on the role of Chair and to lead a charity with such a powerful and impactful mission and contribute to the prevention, enforcement, and reform initiatives that lie at the heart of the charity’s work.” said Carly Jones. “Resolute Women’s Support Services’ multi-faceted approach to domestic abuse is both visionary and necessary. Preventing domestic abuse before it starts is crucial to breaking the cycle of abuse, and I’m excited to support efforts aimed at early intervention and education.”
She continued, “Equally important is ensuring that we have an effective, rapid, and coordinated response to domestic abuse when it does occur. Resolute Women’s Support Services’ commitment to working closely with law enforcement and support services to guarantee timely intervention is vital for the safety of survivors. But just as crucial is the reform of systems that often fail to deliver fair and supportive outcomes for survivors.”
Manveet Chhina joins the Board as a new Trustee, bringing her wealth of expertise in family law and criminal law. Manveet has extensive experience in all aspects of family law ranging from divorce, financial remedy, private and public child proceedings and domestic abuse. She is recognised as a leading domestic abuse lawyer. Manveet has a passion for supporting marginalised communities and advocating for social justice. Her appointment adds to the depth of knowledge and experience on the Board as the organisation looks to expand its services and impact.
Manveet expressed her enthusiasm about joining the Board, emphasising her commitment to Resolute’s mission and its comprehensive strategy to tackle domestic abuse: “I am honoured to join the Board of Resolute Women’s Support Services and to lead a charity with such a powerful and impactful mission. Resolute Women’s Support Services has always been a beacon of hope for women affected by domestic abuse, and I look forward to working with the Board, staff, and partners to ensure we create a world where survivors are empowered, heard, and supported in every aspect of their lives, and that domestic abuse is eradicated. I am passionate about helping Resolute Women’s Support Services push for the kind of change that will ensure survivors have access to the justice, support, and resources they need to rebuild their lives.”
Resolute Women’s Support Services is a leading domestic abuse charity in South Yorkshire committed to empowering domestic abuse victims and survivors to rebuild their lives and offering them the support they need to achieve independence and safety. “We are thrilled to welcome Carly as our new Chair and Manveet as a Trustee,” said Deborah Jones, CEO and Founder of Resolute Women’s Support Services. “Both Carly and Manveet bring a wealth of experience, dedication, and passion to the team, and I am confident they will help guide the charity to new heights in supporting domestic abuse survivors and in our mission to eradicate domestic abuse.”

About Resolute Women’s Support Services
At Resolute Women’s Support Services, our mission is clear: to eradicate domestic abuse in all its forms. We are committed to a multi-pronged approach that tackles the issue from every angle:
1. Prevention – We aim to stop domestic abuse before it starts by raising awareness, providing education, and working with communities and organisations to challenge the social norms and behaviours that enable abuse.
2. Enforcement – We are dedicated to ensuring that survivors receive a rapid, effective, and coordinated response. Our work with law enforcement and support agencies ensures that those who experience abuse can access the help they need when they need it most, and that perpetrators are held accountable through a robust justice system.
3. Reform – We are committed to changing the system to achieve fairer, faster justice for survivors. This includes advocating for policy changes, ensuring better support for victims through the legal process, and pushing for reforms that guarantee all survivors have access to the resources and justice they deserve. At the heart of everything we do is the voice of survivors. Their experiences, needs, and aspirations guide our work, shaping the way we develop services, policies, and initiatives. Resolute Women’s Support Services is proud to stand as a champion for survivors, fighting for a future where domestic abuse is no longer tolerated, and where every individual has the opportunity to live free from fear.
